Another day of bone chilling temperatures in the capital as a frostbite advisory remains in effect for Ottawa on Thursday.
While many of us are fortunate enough to have a proper winter jacket and warm roof over our heads, not everyone is so lucky.
The Ottawa Mission's doors are open and the shelter expects to fill up when it's this cold outside.
Mission Executive Director, Peter Tilley explained that there will be people looking out for those who want to venture outside in the cold.
"We encourage them to bundle up," Tilley said. "Our clothing room here with winter coats and proper winter footwear, which hasn't been in use as much as you would expect in December, is now hopping."
Tilley explained that volunteers will also do extra foot patrols in the area around the shelter, looking for those that are in danger of exposure.
The shelter is always looking for donations to ensure that everyone has a winter coat and warm boots.
