Ottawa police are employing a new tactic in their battle against distracted driving.
Traffic Sergeant Mark Gatien says his officers have borrowed a high-riding vehicle to catch what he calls "crotch texting" - drivers attempting to use their mobile devices in their laps without being noticed.
It's a police cargo van, which gives officers enough height to see well into other cars.
Gatien adds, in a tweet, that using your mobile device at a red light still breaks the law against distracted driving.
