In the wake of Sunday night's deadly shooting at a Quebec City mosque, police forces in Gatineau and Ottawa are increasing security.
Gatineau Police have parked cruisers outside of mosques in the region as a precaution.
Ottawa Police explained on Monday they would be 'more vigilant' around mosques in the city.
Six people, between the ages of 35 and 70, were killed in a massacre at the Quebec City Islamic Cultural Centre at the end of evening prayers on Sunday night.
Eight people were wounded, five of those were listed in critical condition and three are between life and death according to a spokesperson from the University of Laval hospital.
12 other people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Two suspects have been arrested, but no names have been released.
