Ottawa Police are investigating a sexual assault from earlier Friday, where the suspect gained entry to the victim's home by posing as a maintenance worker.
Police say they were called to the Wiggins Pvt. and Chapel St. area in Ottawa around 1:00 p.m.
The man allegedly gained access to a woman's home by knocking on her door and identifying himself as a gas meter inspector.
Police are asking for the public's help to identify the suspect. He's described as Caucaisan, French-speaking, in his early 50s, and roughly between 5'7" and 5'10" tall.
At the time of the assault, he was wearing a black jacket, dark pants, a black touque with pom-poms, and beige work boots, and was also carrying a clipboard.
Police are worried there could have been other attempts made by this man to enter residences. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault/Child Abuse Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5944 .
Officers also want to remind residents to not let anyone into their homes if they aren't sure about their credentials.
