A security guard who claimed to have been robbed while on the job months ago is now facing charges himself.
Ottawa police say on April 23 at 2:00 a.m. the security guard was watching over a business in the 300 block of Cresthaven.
Police say the man reported to have been robbed by a group of males, with one reportedly carrying a handgun.
Police attended the scene, left, and returned again just over an hour later due to another complaint by the same security guard.
As a result, police arrested five males under 18. All five youths were released without charge later that same day.
Ali Chokeir, 20, has been charged with one count of Public Mischief.
Chokeir will appear in court on August 14, 2017.
Anyone with information regarding this robbery is asked to call the Ottawa Police's Robbery Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5116.
