After a weekend of turmoil in the United States and in Canada, Ottawa residents have organized a day of solidarity demonstrations.
First planned is a demonstration at the United States Embassay at noon against U.S. President Donald Trump's travel and refugee ban.
More than 600 people have confirmed on Facebook they're attending the event, which is in support of those affected by the ban on people entering the U.S. from Syria, Libya, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Somalia, and Yemen.
Later in the day there is a solidarity vigil planned for 6 p.m. at Parliament Hill in support of the victims of Sunday night's terrorist attack against a mosque in Quebec City.
Six people died in that attack.
A vigil has also been organized for 5 p.m. at the Mosque in Aylmer at 21 rue Park.
More solidarity events are planned across Quebec as well for Monday, including a demonstration outside the Parc subway station in Montreal.
In France, the Eiffel Tower will turn its lights off at midnight local time.
