Roads may become snowcovered and icy and visibility could be suddenly reduced.

Environment Canada has ended a snow squall warning for Ottawa, in the wake of a cold front moving across the region.

The warning said conditions were favourable for a brief but intense snow squall as a cold front passes late this morning.

Some heavy snowfall was seen for a brief period Wednesday.

In other parts of eastern Ontario, a winter travel advisory was in effect, advising travelers of the potential for heavy, blowing snow.

The temperature in Ottawa is forecast to drop dramatically from around -2°C Wednesday morning to -13°C Wednesday afternoon.
