It's a new era for hitching a ride in Ottawa.
As of Friday, ride-sharing companies like Uber can operate legally in the city provided they meet certain requirements.
However, the city has not yet issued a license to the private transportation company.
Meanwhile, Ottawa taxi drivers say they will continue to take action.
Drivers say the new bylaw does not level the playing field - despite drivers getting a reduction in license fees.
Uber drivers with a license from the city are now also allowed to pick up and drop off passengers at the airport.
