The Robbery Unit has charged a 31-year-old Ottawa man in connection to a robbery on the 1000-block of St. Laurent Blvd.
James Simpson, of Ottawa, has been charged with the following offences:
* Robbery
* Possession of a weapon
* Use imitation firearm in commission of an indictable offence
* Wear disguise
* Resists arrest
Ottawa Police got the call around 6:15 p.m. Friday evening, and say a suspect was arrested without incident near the scene.
Police say a weapon was also recovered. They would not confirm what was stolen, only that it was merchandise from a convenience store.
Mr. Simpson appeared in court Saturday morning and was held in custody. His next court appearance is February 24, 2017.
Robbery investigators will be reviewing other open robbery investigations over the next several days for potential linkages.
